I just called Harry Reid's office to complain about the Senate's taking August off without having passed a health care bill. I said, "I have to work during August. I'm going to work late tonight if I don't get my work finished. If I'm going to stay until I complete my work, why aren't you?" To this, the woman who answered the phone said, "We have no comment." No comment?! WTF?! They have no comment because they have no excuse!
Before I hung up, I told the woman that all I wanted was the same type of insurance that Sen. Reid has. (Which isn't entirely true; what I really want is single payer.)
The good news is that others must also be calling. I called 4 times before I could actually get through to a human, and I got a reorder (busy circuit tone) twice.
Here's a link to a list of toll-free numbers in case anyone else wants to call: www.CallCongress.org

1. Good for you! If Pelosi can stay at work the why can't Reid? In fact you inspired me. I'm calling. |

6. I called Reid and mine Baucus and Tester, and Testers' office said they are staying 'till Aug 7th |
|
She said it's already being extended.
So that's a good thing.
Call anyway, ask if they are in session longer, and thank them if they are!

7. Gal there said "he's going to be working on it in August" so I asked |
|
if it was a "working vacation"? (Incredulously) and she said we..well..he'll be working on it in the state. MY FOOT. Tolf her he's a huge dissappointment. Their lines are very busy--had to wait on hold a minute or so -- good!

9. Lazy rich people don't care if the working class has it rough. |
|
They never will, unless caught nekked skydiving in Bolivia with their mistress/mister. Then they might cry a little and care as much as 300grams of care juice - but no more.
