Suggestion for the Rec/Unrec feature: Bring back the confirmation dialog box.
I just recommended something I meant to unrecommend. :banghead:

I like this new feature, but back when all we could do was to recommend, a confirmation dialog box would pop up asking if we were sure we wanted to recommend the post. Had this detail remained with the new Rec/Unrec feature, I wouldn't have gone and given credence to something I thought deserved just the opposite.

Am I the only one who's messed up like this?

1. I can say I've never had that happen to me...
If I push "rec" it means I meant to push "rec." Particularly since I've never used the Unrec and really don't see a point that I would. Thus, not a problem for me. I LIKE the lack of confirmation.

:D

2. Personally, I like that there are fewer clicks to rec a thread,
but I appreciate your issue. My problem is putting people on my buddy list when all I want to do is view their profile. ;)

3. Or, just let us undo recs/unrecs
No need for these things to be written in stone. As long as the 24-hour period hasn't expired, what's the problem with switching a rec?

6. Nooo! I hated that confirm box. If ya hit the wrong button then hit the other
one to cancel yourself out. sheesh.

7. Um, you can't "cancel yourself out".
You seemed 100% certain where I was only 99% certain, so I followed your advice.

So I ended up unreccing another post I would normally have rec'ed; You made me make Dan Rather cry!

8. This has been suggested since day 1 of unrec, and I agree - standard UI design...
Edited on Thu Jul-23-09 06:47 PM by BlooInBloo
Either give people an undo function OR put a speedbump in the way of un-undoable actions.

EDIT: The speedbump makes more sense than undo, in this instance.

10. We need to triple the time involved because you screw up occasionally?
For all of those of you who think that adding that speed bump will stop you from screwing up the most simple action ever conceived here, I suggest you simply pay more attention and not complain when you make a mistake that has almost zero consequences, anyway.
