he said it was Chris Matthews, CNBC, NYTImes and the mainstream media that spread similar smears and lies about Clinton, Gore and Kerry so why is anyone surprised that the RW is trying to smear Obama this time around. He basically says the M$M cant blame the internet for these smears., after all the internet wasn't around when they smeared Clinton with Whitewater et al.

Surprised to see a guest on an M$M telling the truth like this.

1. I loved that!

And he asked why Cheney's daughter was being given air time to spew her lies.

2. That was a thing of beauty...
...Schuster lost it.

I'm sure you won't be seeing Mr. Pierce booked for a long time.

Now I want to read his book.

3. that was most excellent
why do the Republicans keep pushing idiotic agendas? BECAUSE THEY CAN! (paraphrasing Mr. Pierce). David sure didn't want to hear it though.

11. Yep, it was was...
and when Charlie referred to his book, Shuster shut him down big time "we're not going to talk about books!" I like Shuster -- but Pierce sure got to him today and Pierce was so right on. If you don't want the story to go anywhere, STFU about it. They sure did that about AWOL and the BFEE's tentacles into Nazi banks, etc.

5. He was great! He mentioned Liz Cheney being on Morning
Joe and those MSNBC shows that are friendly to her. He threw the 'birther' controversy back onto the MSM, citing Chuck Todd's earier comments that it's being driven by the Internet.

6. The press was lame because they always went after Clinton for all the wrong reasons. They
never smeared him about NAFTA or so -called Welfare "reform." They gave him a free ride on the corporitist stuff he did.

10. "They gave him a free ride on the corporitist stuff he did." - so did I , unfortunately
I trusted him so I took him at his word. :grr:
His corporate masters must be very pleased with the Big Dog and his DLC.

I was very, very unhappy with Obama choosing DLC snake Rahm.... Will Rahm serve Obama's ideas or push the DLC agenda? I think the jury is still out on that. I knew Obama was far more rightwing than I - but so was Hillary, and since the DLC was Bill's group I worried it's evil influence more with Hill than with Obama. I still think he is the better choice, and certainly he is better than McCain/Palin would have been.

15. Clinton being smeard for a bunch of bs made it very difficult to try to hold him accountable for
dragging the country over so far to the right.

I thought we had a sliver of a chance with Obama where as i thought we had no chance at all with Hill.

I supported Kucinich until he dropped out. I knew he wouldn't win, but i liked that he talked issues while he campaigned.

David Swanson wrote a great column that kind of sums up how i felt about Obama and Clinton. You might like it if you haven't seen it.

17. amen....that was very cool. and it's obvious that Shuster hasn't read the definitive book
on Whitewater: The Hunting of the President

Davie, boy, when you mentioned Tucker and MacDougald being convicted, you forgot to tell the truth: that the prosecutor in the case, in his summary, explicitly state that the Clintons were the VICTIMS of those two, as well as David Hale, the fact that you and the rest of your 'journalist' pals conveniently forgot all the way through the rest of the inquisition that resulted

very bad fail on your part there, Davie. but you were working for Fox then, weren't you? Did you have your blinders on then, or what?

Love the way Pierce stuck it to the M$M. no wonder you don't see him on the air

19. "Countdown" is on again - the 10 pm repeat -
and I have it on just to watch the one again. I think we saw a TV classic take place there.

Shuster does all right - I didn't care for him with his breathless pronouncements, all of them wrong, when "Karl Rove has been secretly indicted" during the Fitzgerald investigation - and since he's been covering for KO and hosting his own show, which I see but rarely, he's been redeeming himself.

That episode tonight set him back a ways.................

21. agreed....he's usually pretty good, but sometimes backs off when he clearly
could be going after some egregious lies...wish I could remember some specifics.

he got up into Pierce's grill way too hard, though, and I'm sure it was because he mentioned some of MSNBC's 'finest'

I'd have loved to have seen a heart monitor when Pierce brought up tweety/CNBC back in the whitewater days. and his BS about the Whitewater prosecutions was STRAIGHT out of the impeachment manager handbook.

speaking of which, remember David Schippers? I asked him about his girlfriend on a radio show a few years back. I have a videotape of it, too, as it was broadcast on TV at the same time. have on of me and Susan Schmidt, as well, from CSPAN, in which she lied her ass off about the testimony of that woman who from the RTC, I think, who had it in for the Clintons, perjured herself, then faked a fainting spell so she wouldn't have to continue her perjuriuos testimony. those were the good old days, yes?

9. These gullible hacks swallow republican lies
hook line and sinker and somehow think they have no responsibility for airing them 24-7.

Schuster, Tweetie, Joe, et al need to look in the mirror if they want to see where this stuff is coming from.

18. I was a little surprised that Shuster wouldn't let him talk.
He was speaking the truth of the MSM's role in the smearing of Clinton/Gore/Kerry and Shuster kept trying to get him back on the "Why won't Cheney disavow the birthers" meme.

Disturbing.

us liberals are like someone that has to choose between a rotten fish and boiling arsenic when it comes to the MSM. We have learned to enjoy the taste of rotten fish.

It was as if Shuster and Pierce were on different topics.
Don't understand why DS was so ticked. Pierce was agreeing with him.
