How minor events are escalated ...
Back-talker arrested

While on patrol July 13, a deputy saw the males standing in the middle of Lincolnshire Road in the Greentown community.

He told them to stop standing in the road and drove away. He saw the were not moving so he drove back to them and asked to see their IDs.

One of the three -- a 28-year-old man -- started asking why the IDs were needed. After he was told he "continued to run his mouth telling us he had (done) nothing wrong and he was not going to do what he was told," the report states.

He also resisted when asked by the officers to let them pat him for weapons.

After asking him to "hush and quit running his mouth," the officer wrote, the man was arrested for obstruction of justice.

2. There is a place where you are allowed to bitch all you want about a cop's behavior. It's called
a courtroom.

Get it right.

Court is where one is allowed to place an officer under oath, require him to answer questions, and do so without ending up in handcuffs.

4. "Standing around on the corner and talking big."
That was in the arrest report of an overturned Texas case forty years ago.

The Bush years allowed and encouraged a resurgence of open and obvious maltreatment of citizens by police.
