Thanks for permitting we pro-RKBA Democrats to defend one of our inalienable/unalienable or pre-existing rights that SCOTUS said are not granted by the Constitution nor in any manner dependent upon that instrument for their existence, see United States v. Cruikshank (1876).

We pro-RKBA Dems have defended our position in DU’s Guns Fortress aka Gungeon and at the grass roots level in our states.

We fought to dispel the false idea that the Democratic Party is made up of gun-grabbers when perhaps two thirds of Democrats support RKBA.

We pro-RKBA Dems were sadden when Gore and Kerry lost narrow elections that they and Bill Clinton acknowledged could have been won if our candidates had not been portrayed as anti-RKBA.

Candidate Obama learned from those two bitter defeats and said "I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in people's lawful right to bear arms. I will not take your shotgun away. I will not take your rifle away. I won't take your handgun away."

The rest is history because Obama trounced McCain at the ballot box.

With that divisive, polarizing issue off the table for a while, President Obama can focus on important things like passing a national health care plan, economic recovery, and improving education.
Another :toast: to Skinner, who made it possible for pro-RKBA Dems from all states to have a forum to express our thoughts, sharpen our points for argument, and become an effective voice for Democrats.

If you were so "saddened" about Gore and Kerry, why did you and your DU Gun Obsessive cohorts spend so much time trashing those two good Democrats because of their views on guns? You people actively worked for the defeat of both those candidates, pure and simple, because they didn't toe the line on the only issue that matters to you. And now you profess admiration for Obama because of that quote of his on guns, but down in the DU Guns forum, he's still the subject to the same old paranoid Democrat-smearing routine, 24/7.
