A funny thing happens to "Morning Joe" when Scab isn't there... |
|
It actually becomes WATCHABLE! Even Mika, vacuous as she is, doesn't spend her time batting her eyes at her boss and becomes curiously less, uh...horrible. Actually some very intelligent discussion going on today.
Thanks, Joe...stay away.

1. I agree. I also think that Mika has a latent desire to be an actress. |
|
Her behavior is an act. imho

2. Mika was grotesque this morning |
|
Insisting that the only issue was whether Officer Crowley is himself "racist" and that any further discussion of the issue and its wider im-plications had to be based on that assumption.
My conclusion: Mika has trouble acknowledging the existence of embedded racial and class politics.
Which make her, in effect, a deniar of and an apologist for white racism.

3. Wow, Eugene Robinson just put Mika in her place |
|
She's been trying to shut down the conversation about Crowley's possible racial motivations, saying that the poor cop is the victim.
Eugene is telling her how FOS she is.

And she wasn't playing devil's advocate, either. She actually believes the shit she was spouting.
The show is less noisy when Joe's not there, but I don't think his absence necessarily raises the IQ bar any.

6. Now the issue is all about Mika (according to Mika) |
|
She's complaining (in the Robinson segment) about all the e-mail she is getting calling her a racist.
Conclusion: Mika is so fundamentally dense that she can't even comprehend how she is provoking this response.
She is also, obviously, utterly clueless as to how racial politics operates in our society .

8. Yeah: Nothing Like The Ice Princess Lecturing Us About Racism. |

Did you see that hurt little expression she kept putting on, every time she talked about all the nasty emails she was getting? She turned my stomach.........

9. She was disgusting (and deserves everything she got) |
|
Especially after her ridiculous argument that race only became an issue after Gates "introduced the race card FIRST" by complaining about his treatment as a black man.
Mika apparently imagines (or finds it convenient to CLAIM, anyway) that we already live in a society where there is no broader context for racism in relations between African American men and the police.
Even Mike Barnicle, who is no paragon on these sorts of issues, had to disagree with her.

4. When Mika's hosting an afternoon news show she's actually pretty good. |
|
First for foremost, Morning Joe is a "morning" show albeit one that tries to present itself as focusing on news vs. fluff. As such, like any morning show everyone has a role to play and Mika's role is the female sidekick who has her "showcases" such as her editorial discusssion segment.
Granted, Joe is a blowhard who overpowers anyone else trying to get a POV in that may not be in line with his. That said, he does know the politcal "game" and I do find his insight on how the game is played to be informative if not exceptionally "deep".
I will give him credit for calling out the Republican embrace of the birthers or "paranoid conspiracy freaks" (Joe stated that the "Rs'" need to have more Castle's if they want to regain leadership) and on Thursday he did seem to side with Gates on a certain level in regards to how the whole situation went down.

7. She is a blonde, somewhat pretty, and deeply reactionary airhead |
|
Perfect for Morning Joe and the TeeVee news.
Yes she can read news copy.
But her strident and clueless expression of her "opinions" reveals a person who unused to, and probably incapable of, complex thinking.
