Can you believe this woman is AGAINST a national health plan?

Picture, if you will, my sister's sister-in-law, "Wanda." Wanda is nearly 50, currently has no job, no car, no health insurance.
A few years ago she had fibroid tumors, which she had to just live with because she was employed at the time but had no health insurance. She lives in Bumfuck, SC, has no kids (thank Goddess), and now her boyfriend is laid off too.

Wanda is on food stamps, and I told my sister to tell her food stamps are (gasp) SOCIALIST!

And this bozo is AGAINST a national health plan!

My sister thinks it's because she has low self-esteem, is in denial about her family, and is a fundie.

It is impossible to understand some people's mental processes. :shrug: :banghead: Why are some people so stupid :grr:

(By the way this woman is not mentally retarded, nor does she have dementia.)

she should not be collecting food stamps if she is against anything government. she should just eat out of garbage cans or something. I am not against people using the social services available to them... i have had assistance. but if you are against something, then benefiting from that thing or something like it is ..... hypocrisy.

7. Exactly. I used to be in a club with a population of mostly convervatives.

Not hard to do in an area red as a baboon's arse.

Many of them were on Medicare, and I know of at least two of them who were against a national health plan.

I don't belong to that club any more. (No, it wasn't a country club.)

what they think they know because they get all their information from other uninformed, lost, and downright ignorant folks on the radio and out of the pulpit.

Sadly, the stupid always listen to other stupid people and because they are glued to the AM radio or hear sermons four times a week, they think they're informed.

Telling her everything she relies on from the roads through the fire department through her food stamps is a socialist program might break through the idiocy, but I wouldn't count on it.

Remember, a leftist is a rabid conservative who's gotten mugged by the system. When a wall of bricks falls on her, it might wake her up.
