2. Somtimes it's better just to say, "Oops. My bad." to get everyone to shut the hell up.

3. He's listening to his political advisers.
Who have told him this is the best way to put it behind him. And get on to more important matters.

4. I don't understand but maybe he knows more than I....
Up to the present, he has been smarter than I have about the way he's gone about things.

What we have to do, is despite his apology, we have to continue to trash and destroy the Repukes.

8. Mostly becaue it diverted attention from what really matters
The President had an hour dedicated, supposedly, to health care reform, yet the next day, on the media and especially on DU Gates was the only topic. Democrats, in general, do not have the support of the various police associations and this could make it worse.

And, of course, it has given an ammunition to the Republicans to say that the President "acted stupidly."

This is what I found:

The president Thursday called Sgt. Crowley an "outstanding police officer" and added: "I think that I have extraordinary respect for the difficulties of the job that police officers do. And my suspicion is that words were exchanged between the police officer and Mr. Gates and that everybody should have just settled down and cooler heads should have prevailed. That's my suspicion."

11. This is not accurate at all.
Chuckie Todd thinks Obama regreted what he said but he just said he regrets that those comments are distracting the media. There is a difference, he is not walking back what he said at all.

Contessa Brewer its as if the President is walking back his comments.
I hope he stands by his comments.

Also, just heard from the journalist on the ground in Cambridge where they
are about to hold a press conference that the police union is going to push
for an apology from Gov. Duval Patrick and the President.

That'll like to see.....
