Equality - Is everyone equal under the law, or not?
If not, why the hell not? Seems like a simple concept.

What have we been doing for the last 234 years? Look at all the civil rights work done, and still racism, sexism, and every kind of discrimination is more blatant, openly sanctioned than ever.

Look at the court rulings, the Voter Rights Act for goodness sake to keep people who have the vote from being disenfranchised. And disenfrancise is once again the key operation for conservatives to win elections.

So, save the crying and gnashing of teeth, MEdia, why don't you look why we haven't gotten anywhere in the last 234 years? You say this country was built by white folks? Try looking at the current slave labor, slaves to credit cards and begging for jobs that are sent overseas, fighting totally meaningless wars. This country is still being built on the backs of the poor, the indentured, and the disenfranchised. Stuff that in your ipod and listen to it.

Free and equal starts at home. Universal healthcare is a great equalizer.

3. Equal Pay for Equal work is really quite common these days
Equal pay for equivalent pay is pretty much dead

2. The Concept is good and well-intentioned.
As much as people wish to deny it, we have a society
of different levels socially (pretty much base on Wealth).

The concept equal under the law--does get colored by whs
can afford the best lawyers.

As in any society, connections count in other instances such
as finding jobs.

The Intention is pure I am sure.

6. Some [people] are more equal than others
.. to paraphrase a line from Orwell's 'Animal Farm'.

The rich and the politically connected have always wielded a disproportionate amount of power, and they generally seek to preserve their own influence and affluence at the expense of others.
