CNN just reporting that Blue Dogs say they can defeat the health care bill if Rep. Henry Waxman bypasses his deadlocked committee and takes the bill to the floor for a vote.

My take: Someone needs to take these dogs to the vet for hot lights and cold steel.

1. Are there no uninsured in their districts? Does no one in their
neighborhood have a "pre-existing condition"? They should be camping out on the office doorsteps day and night....

5. Send these Blue Dogs to the pound. They are not Democrats.

We all need to stand up and say that as Democrats we are not going to support any Blue Dog any more.

I am watching C-Span and I just saw something like 40 "Dems" vote AGAINST clean needle programs, and over 20 vote AGAINST Planned Parenthood. WTF????

If we are going to work for and vote for what amounts to a Republican anyway, may as well make it official and just vote Republican. Because there is pretty much no difference in the Blue Dogs and the Republicans.

18. So... no change?
 I would rather have Republicans doing these things in the name of the Republican party than have them doing it in the name of our party.

19. Currently dems control all three branches....
and they are rolling through with their agenda like a run away freight train, right? No, not so much. And so if those blue dogs were replaced with repubs the result would be, what? Well, I'm guessing health care wouldn't even be on the table for starters.

Let's see if Blue Pukes will actually vote in defiance of the President and the people.

7. That would be a huge stab in the back.
If it went to the floor and the Blue Dogs shot it down, that would be a huge stab in the back to the President.

17. Not exactly
LBJ played hardball from the big chair and kept the pipsqueaks at the kiddie table in line. These clowns wouldn't be talking out of school if they knew there would be consequences from the leadership.

Back in the day, party leaders made them FALL IN LINE if they wanted to salvage their political careers.

Can we revolt and somehow remove these ass-holes from power? If they're Dems in name only, what's the point in having them anyway?

23. CNN FAIL.
Don't know if you saw the news, but HR 3200 is now going back into markup, and is back on track for passage through the House!

http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/07/mark-ups-to-continue-on-energy-and-commerce-committee.php

My bet is that after Ross threw his hissy-fit and walked out of negotiations with Waxman, he quickly found out he did not have the votes to muster to kill HR 3200 on the floor, and that Waxman had a much bigger Rolodex than he did, as well as plenty of strings to pull to do things like cutting off Ross's DCCC funding, or to run embarassing ads in his district... Pretty soon, he was stuck crawling back to the negotiating table to take that face-saving compromise, and he was told to take it and quit stalling the bill.

If CNN's still playing the "HR 3200 is about to die in the House" schtick, it's epic fail for them!
