Now is the perfect time for this... |
|
...I used to watch Law & Order, liked it for the first four or five seasons. Then it got old. Then the offshoots started. Now, it's just been beaten to death.
However, there could be one more version of the series I'd love to see- Law & Order: Internal Affairs.
How do you think a series filled with nothing but illustrations of the crap cops pull -- some getting away with it, some being busted -- would go over?
Reflections?

Exposing the bad cops, and the bad citizens who try to ruin cops careers.

2. I would love to see a Judge Judy |
|
where both sides present their case. I'm not belittling the event. I'm using a kind of silly shorthand for what I would really like to see, which is the FACTS presented objectively to the American public, and then some kind of intelligent discussion by Jeffrey Toobin, Alan Dershowitz and others. It would be a wonderful dialog the whole country could learn from.

7. First, I think those Judge shows are just another Jerry Springer... |
|
...Someone cashing in on ignorance.
Secondly, I think too many people ignore the reality in that there are normally three "truths" to most every conflict: your truth, my truth and the whole truth.

3. That would be interesting, but it seems the TV is going all-hospital for the next season. n/t |

4. It would be a hit here at DU, but this is the place where people like to brag about not watching tv. |
|
Ironically, at this moment, I am watching the 3rd season of Law and Order, Criminal Intent on Netflix streaming.

6. I guess they don't want anyone to get the impression that... |

...cops care about justice and equitable rule of law.

I once tried to get a similar arrest scrubbed from my record and was hooked up with a contact by a friend in the City Attorney's Office. So, I'm talking to this guy who is a cop and whose office's sole function is to clear bad arrests. He screamed at me for five minutes, told me he didn't even want to hear my story and that in CA, you can't scrub bad arrests. It was unreal. I didn't bother to go in, mostly because I never wanted to talk to someone like him again ever if at all possible. lol
