I live in Georgia, and because my partner's company recognizes domestic partnership, I'm covered under her medical insurance. We can't get married in Georgia, but the fact that AAA South has addressed this issue in a positive and fair manner is encouraging. Here's hoping they will soon accept domestic partnership as well.

I don't know of any lenders that base rates on marital status - I'm a mortgage banker. I do a pretty large gay business. The only hassle is, I have to do two separate application packages and structure the deal as "co-mortgagors". Title is generally the same but un-married couples miss out on an important legal strategy of holding property as "tenants by the entirety" which offers certain protections against lawsuits/judgments.
