Any thoughts on Swiss health care? I'm not sure what to think of it. |
It's an odd combination of private and public. Here's a story on it. It's an old story, but explains a good amount. http://www.dallasnews.com/s/dws/bus/stories/DN-swisshealth_07bus.ART0.State.Edition2.21730ee.htmlIt's certainly expensive, but cheaper than the US. I haven't heard any discussions on the Swiss plan.

1. It should evident by now that the expense is not what's important |
to the right and propagandized Americans, but that money is run through corporations in lieu of government. Part of their ideology is that it is cheaper to do that despite reality.

2. That would be DOA here-- the Swiss are a much smaller... |
population and they have a problem with high costs and myriad plans to choose from. Such a thing would be a nightmare here and is exactly what most people are trying to avoid.
But, the sides are drawn and no one's really looking at anyone else's plan at this point. We're going to get something, but what it will be is anyone's guess.

3. Our health care system is already based on the Swiss model... |
unfortunately, it's the model for Swiss cheese -- expensive & full of holes.
