We are not asking for detailed transcripts, just for short summaries of the main points.

Common enough thing to happen. Go to your photobucket album. Look for the image.

I propose a new rule. Post the explanation along with any shorthand posted so the rest of us can know what the poster is trying to express also. SGTM (Sounds Good To Me)

21. Actually, I was hoping for enough recommends to get on the Greatest page, so more DUers would

understand how important summaries are for us who cannot hear videos.

This is the week when the ADA is being celebrated. I wish more people would understand that hearing loss excludes a lot of us from full participation in all community activities. Since DU is supposedly a progressive community, it seems more people should be willing to accommodate our hearing impairment.

23. Thanks. I know it is hard for people with normal hearing

to remember about those of us who can;'t hear, especially since our disability is not visible. That's why I keep harping on the point. I hate to nag, but I don't know any other way to make our plight clear to people who don't have the same difficulties we have.

The ones that kill me are the ones who do it and then ignore requests for summaries. Often when I reuuest a summary and explain that I am hearing impaired, the OP wil apologize and rush to include the summary, and I am always grateful when they do that. Obviously most people are not deliberately trying to exclude us--it's just hard to realize the problem if you don't face it yourself.

tblue37's request is quite reasonable (and logical) and we all benefit from synopses and transcripts, but I would argue that unrecommending possibly very important posts from people who do this in their free time and out of a good general interest is counter-productive. More productive would be to post and ask the OP or someone else to provide a synopsis.
