Why Do Conservatives Hate Freedom?
A public option promotes choice. It expands freedom by giving Americans a new option in health care.

So why are conservatives suddenly opposed to choice and freedom? Is it the possibility that choice and freedom might actually COST them something? Freedom is great when all you have to do is wave a flag and shout slogans. But when there's a threat to the wallet involved, suddenly they don't care whether people have a choice or not.

Funny how that works, eh?

1. Conservatives LOVE freedom.
The poor & the soon-to-be-poor "middle class" have the freedom to starve & die, while the rich have the freedom the steal, corrupt our laws & destroy our society.

4. Yeah, they love those sort of no-cost freedoms.
If you don't like the system or refuse to participate, you have the freedom to go live under a bridge and starve. God bless America!

Their concept of "freedom" is exceptionally simplistic and narrow-minded, especially for people who love to spout slogans about it at every opportunity.

2. Simple.
They value control--of people, things, wealth, power, everything--more than they value (other people's) freedom.

everything Repubs believe seems to be about inflicting their will upon others (who do not believe the same as they do).
They are the antithesis of freedom.

5. They do not hate their kind of freedom---Financial . It is all about
the wealthy(the constituents for whom they are concerned) being
able to keep their money.

7. Heh, you nailed it.
The almighty pocketbook is Priority Numero Uno. "Freedom" and "liberty" are code words for "stay out of my pockets."

There's a reason "In God We Trust" is on the money. I consider it truth in advertising. In their greenback god they do trust.

6. They aren't really conservatives; they're puritans, and they've always distrusted...

and discounted the freedom of others even within and amongst themselves
