What Would Have Happened If Hillary's Healthcare Plan Had Passed Back Then?..........
Probably a stupid question - but I've asked it. If Hillary would have been successful at passing some sort of health reform back when she worked on this - where would we be today with respect to a system? Would more or less people be insured? Would our care be any better? Would we be any closer today to a single payer program?

Just curious as I haven't heard or read anything that would address this.

1. We will never know.....
I don't think.

I didn't understand her system that well, but then I wasn't paying as much attention....
cause back then, health care was way more affordable than it is now.

2. perhaps someone could explain what an 'alliance' was
just my opinion, BTW.

at the time, I thought that a 'health care alliance'
was Clinton's way of papering over the
unworkable part of the plan,
by giving it a fancy sounding name.

if incorrect, please enlighten me.

5. who cares?
That was a long time ago politically and economically. What is important is what is today...
Hillary said that if there was a strong democratic majority that single payer would be a plan to consider. Obama will not consider it even though most Americans want it and he has all the democrats he needs to do it.
What is missing is an explanation to the American people about how it would work. But to do that he would have to understand it and be able to explain it and defend it.
