1. although I do not agree with it
Congress did pass a law banning federal funding for abortions but not heart attacks. Just curious if they might be willing to violate the law or change it.

2. so why ask the question?
At present, the federal Medicaid program mandates abortion funding in cases of rape or incest, as well as when a pregnant woman's life is endangered by a physical disorder, illness, or injury.

3. Since aid to Africa from U.S. now allows payment for abortion
shouldn't our own health care cover abortions?

Africa: Obama Reverses U.S. Ban on Abortion-Linked Aid
Katy Gabel
5 February 2009

Nairobi — The decision by United States President Barack Obama to overturn the Bush administration's ban on funding assistance programs which provide abortions or abortion counselling - which caused widespread controversy among HIV/Aids campaigners - has prompted widespread comment across Africa.

Obama issued an executive order on January 23 which reversed the ban. It is formally known as the Mexico City Policy, but more commonly referred to as the "global gag rule." It was first introduced by President Ronald Reagan in 1984. President Bill Clinton overturned it, and George W. Bush reinstated it in 2001. http://allafrica.com/stories/200902050768.html

4. Maybe we should limit maternity coverage while we're at it.
I don't want my money going to breeding morons overpopulating the country.
