It kills me to see War funding beating Health-care Reform |
|
Iraq cost well into 2 trillion USD when all is said and done. No one made this bru-ha-ha about that did they? No one tried to stop that war in its tracks. Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice all saying mushroom cloud on one side of their mouths while laughing at us with the other. Did we think long and hard 'bout that? How many transplants could one F-35 have paid for? Would a predator drone or hellfire missile have paid for my doctor's visit. Would delaying buying a humvee help pay for my prescriptions? How many times could we have financed stem-cell research as opposed to more R&D for another fleet of presidential helicopters. Could we have advanced AIDS Research long enough to keep my brother alive if we didn't re-vamp the new aerial refueling tankers. How bout that stealth boat would it have paid some of the dough nut hole in Medicare. How many prosthetic limbs would we have saved had we not gone to IRAQ?

And btw, wtf are you to talk about prosthetic limbs? And what's this 'we' shit?
And why did you suddenly become concerned?
Your concern is noted. : :

ready to ignore the crimes of the war profiteers who have helped to bankrupt the country, and are still doing so today.

10. Obama's defense budget request for 2009 is higher than Bush's |
|
I wouldn't call Obama a war profiteer since I don't think he's personally benefiting financially from the increase, but I don't think he's helping the situation either by blowing even more money on defense than his predecessor.

3. That's what I love about America. |
|
In this country, we will fight tooth and nail to protect your fetus from abortion. This so that we can raise a person just so we can rape him of his labor and destroy any chance he has at a happy life where he isn't metaphorically shackled to his desk at work. He will be made into a passive consumer instead of an active citizen. His life will be cataloged, commoditized, analyzed, ranked, and he will be discarded when he no longer generates enough profits for America. He will fight our wars for profit. He will go without health care if need be, and he will, if need be, be forced from his home if the bank deems it. By God, it will be done.
America, land of opportunity...to crush your soul.

9. Why are you being so hostile? I would think you would |
|
agree whole-heartedly with this OP.
War funding has repeatedly had enough support to pass nearly unanimously. We should WISH that health care had that kind of support! If health care had as much support as war funding bills then health care bills would have passed already too, and Obama would already be celebrating his victory over the Insurance Industry.
Instead, you're going on the attack for no reason at all. It looks like you are getting so used to being hostile, and so used to attacking people, that you're attacking automatically now. :wtf:

11. No. I'm trying to determine why we are in Afghanistan |
|
instead of agreeing with everything positive or negative about it.
I don't agree with the war funding, and I don't know if we should get out of there.
Yes, I'm torn.
Kill the Taliban and AQ and poppies to make us safer, or get out. That's the problem.
What do you suggest?

It does just chap a person's ass, doesn't it?
When it comes to war, money is no object. Stealth bombers run $2 billion a pop and it's no trouble ordering 21 of them. Only the best when it comes to killing people and blowing shit up. No Freeper or even mainstream centrist raises an eyebrow.
But try whipping out an EBT card in the line at Wal-Mart and see what kind of looks you get...

13. We need a strong defense, but do we really need to have bases in |
|
virtually every corner of the world? What other country has to spend that kind of money on "defense."
