Inhofe: The Birthers "Have A Point," And "I Don't Discourage It"
By Eric Kleefeld - July 27, 2009, 9:42AM

You can count Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) as a fellow traveller of the Birther movement, the Politico reports, if he's not in fact a full-fledged Birther himself.

"They have a point," said Inhofe. "I don't discourage it. ... But I'm going to pursue defeating {Obama} on things that I think are very destructive to America."

Oklahoma's other Senator, Tom Coburn, previously said he would support the Birther bill if it made it to the Senate. So while Birtherism may be a fringe conspiracy theory, it does have some high-level support in at least one state in the Union.

1. Yes, they do have a point ...
and if they wear a hat, maybe nobody will notice it.

5. Just got back from a family reunion in OK
When Inhofe's name came up there were many sighs, eye rolls and descriptors like, "stupid", "idiot" and "fool".

6. I can tell you who voted for Inhofe.

Picture a backwoods redneck driving a rusty pickup truck. They drink Bud and think everyone should have as many guns as they want. They are uneducated, bigoted, and don't trust anyone who doesn't act or look like them. Their wives/girlfriends are mostly the same, they tolerate these guys because they either don't know there are men out there who would respect them, or they've got so many kids they don't have time to think, period.

Note: If they don't have a rusty old pickup truck, they have a shiny new one with all the extras. (This is to compensate for their extremely small penis, just as it is in most of the country.)

Or...they are wealthy white Republicans who have big homes, big cars, a house at the lake, a Cabin Cruiser docked at the lake, and they have profited greatly from Republican policies.

If Inhofe voters don't fit in those two segments, they are likely very religious and believe it is their duty to force their religious beliefs on everyone else. No abortions, no gays, and complete freedom of religion but no freedom FROM religion.

That should take care of 95% of them.

13. Good point.
From the news around here lately, I'm pretty sure most of the rusty pickup or new pickup/small penis folks are running meth labs. Seems every day or so, there's a fire due to one of these idiots.

Inhofe supporters = meth cookers. Makes sense.

8. The birthers DO have as legitimate an argument as . . .
The folks who question the parentage of Sarah Palin's alleged "fifth" child. I wonder if Lou Dobbs will run a week's worth of programs on that?

10. So Obama is illegally in office and you're doing nothing, Jimbo?
Clinton got a blowjob and you impeachment guys went for him like hungry pirahna after a drowning sumo wrestler.

Now you got a guy who isn't a legal President and you'll let him stay in office? Isn't that called malfeasance?

17. Look, all republicans are either stupid, greedy or greedy and stupid.
Oklahoma is filled with just plain stupid folk (I know there are some normal people there but not enough of you to show up on a map). Stupid folk need a greedy and stupid leader that they can really get behind. Jim Inhofe fits the bill He does a great job if you want lousy schools and pretend science. He is incredibly successful at keeping his constituents as uninformed as they want to be. They like to be ignorant and they donate money to his election fund and keep sending him to Washington. It's Stupid free-market politics.

19. BTW, Oklahoma has a Birther Bill pending
Edited on Mon Jul-27-09 11:52 AM by WeDidIt
Apparently the language requires an "original long form birth certificate".

Looks to me like the bill is specifically designed to keep Obama off the ballot in 2012.
