Seems like there are more of these stories lately:

Woman holds knife to boy in Vallejo market
Henry K. Lee, Chronicle Staff Writer

(07-27) 11:39 PDT VALLEJO --

A 7-year-old boy was accosted by a woman with a steak knife in a Vallejo grocery store before his parents fought her off, police said today.

The boy was standing with his family in the produce aisle of the Grocery Outlet at 66 Admiral Callaghan Lane (links.sfgate.com/ZHTC) when 47-year-old Dana Stevenson of Vallejo walked up to him about 12:10 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Stevenson grabbed the boy around his neck in a chokehold, produced a steak knife and began rambling about the Chinese Mafia and Michael Jackson, police Lt. Lee Horton said.

Stevenson then began dragging the boy from one end of the produce aisle to the other, Horton said.

The boy's father grabbed Stevenson from behind and forced her arms up and away from the child, police said. The boy's mother grabbed her son and took hold of the assailant's hand at the same time.

The mother suffered a laceration to the palm of one of her hands while struggling with Stevenson, Horton said. Store employees and other shoppers helped to detain Stevenson until police arrived.

1. It sounds like she has a mental health issue.
What a nasty thing to happen to a little boy, not to mention while his mom was frantically trying to get him away from Stevenson.

2. sounds like the lady is off her meds. maybe her health insurance wouldn't cover them.
or else she was released from the mental ward because she was 'ready to go home' otherwise known as insurance ran out.

3. Well, let's see ...
.... those of us who work are chastised for not being 'stay at home moms' & we make 65% of what men make, so those of us who are single moms are under tremendous financial stress or working multiple jobs or both (exhausted - physically or mentally, either way) ... we're kicked around by society because we're not beautiful or sexy enough to be 'wanted' by a man, or not docile enough to be a fulltime breeder ... or if we are a stay-at-home-mom, the current economy is kicking our husband's ass so he's under alot of stress which he likely unloads on us when he gets home from work, after we've listened to a day full of "i want i want i want" from our kids who are being brainwashed into consumerism by tv.

Do you really need to ask why women are snapping?? :wtf:
