It's the big pow-wow for H.R. 3200 - House leaders were apparently hearing from a lot of congresscritters who didn't know enough of the details of H.R. 3200 to properly make a decision on it (that may very well be partisan fucktardery.) That ends today. No more excuses for not knowing what's in the bill!

Everyone in there is going to be educated as to the details of the bill, and they're going over it section by section.

Probably especially important, since Mike Ross, after all his stalling, bloviating and caterwauling, just admitted that he didn't read the bill.

Hopefully, enough heads are banged together in that meeting to make sure that bill gets through, so we can concentrate on hammering the Senate.

My dream - everyone heads in, gets all set for their usual bullshit, then Rahm Emanuel enters the room, wearing a shark-toothed grin, and the doors all close and lock...

1. Last week we were told they should vote without reading it. What's changed?

4. I'm not too horribly worried about Polis.
The House bill is probably going to get amended - Pelosi offered a compromise that would change the surtax so it would only affect people making more than a million dollars, and my bet is that Polis takes the compromise. Maybe another amendment or two that makes life easier for small businesses.

Granted, Polis needs to be watched and leaned on, but I think he'll relent.

At least that's what my Gut of Truthiness tells me.

5. I hope your gut is right. I have Learned Hopelessness.....too many times of
Lucy pulling the football, I don't trust all the Lucys anymore.

And I resent that they have caused this!

3. If you want single payer, please call and support the Weiner Amendment.
Even if we don't get it, it can't hurt, right?
