If we lose on this, it could be just what is needed to wake people up to the fact that Obama is not going to do everything for us.

That merely electing a super-majority of Democrats is not enough.

That we need to do what Obama said-- we need to BE the change ourselves.

A loss on health insurance and/or the Employee Free Choice Act could snap Progressives (and the vast majority of Americans who agree with us on these issues, whether they call themselves Progressives or not) into finally getting up off their couches and taking action.

Losing (at least temporarily) on these issues could be what wakes us all up and gets us all active again.

Remember the turn-out we got right before the election?

That can happen again.

You just TRY us.

You go ahead and wake the sleeping giant that elected President Obama in a landslide.

Can we kick your asses, Republicans?

Oh, yeah.

Yes, we can, fuckers.

2. Part of my problem right now is that OBAMA has not really thrown his hat in the ring...

I have made my calls...and will continue. I have pulled my support from DSCC and DNC until they actually do something. In the future I will only support progressive candidates.

My one issue is that if Obama does not come on strong to get a true public option...I am not going to support him in the future. That's my line in the sand. He ran on reform...he needs to get out there and push it...HARD along with our help.

3. We will take the Senate, and the House, and the presidency. Then they'll see!

5. I disagree
The last time the country had this debate: Blue Dogs and Republicans won it. The mid-term elections saw Newt and the rethugs come into power. So basically the Republicans have nothing to lose from doing this. Blue Dogs however history shows have a lot to lose, since it's those seats that went out the door in the 90s. It seems to be in their (blue dogs) best interest to get this done this year and not drag this process into the election year cycle. It's almost like they want to lose their seat.
