Saw my first Palin 2012 bumper sticker today.
In Hinckley Minnesota, about 77 miles northeast of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area -- population approximately 1400-1500.

It said "PALIN 2012" in big letters, and underneath in smaller font said, "Change You'll Be Begging For!" On a newish looking small car (don't know the make) and clearly plastered over a "PALIN 2008" sticker which was sticking out below the bottom edge of the new one.

An older, grey-haired man was the driver. I was behind him at a stop sign on a side street; he turned right, I turned left. While still stopped behind him I had a fleeting fantasy of leaping out of my car, running up to his window, and yelling at him: "How fucking stupid ARE you? Why would you want that total NUTCASE for president?!?!"

But, of course, I didn't act on it, I just shook my head sadly...

1. They are so lost. They haven't got a clue in whom to trust their
political futures. They'd rely on a shallow, narcissistic attention-seeker versus a politician with substance, even one that was wrong.

2. I saw my first bumpersticker soon after the RNC
along 394 around Golden Valley or so back last fall.

3. Crazy...
I've seen a couple of Palin bumper stickers down here. One said Palin and had a moose and a piece of oilfield equipment in the background, which almost made me think it was a parody... but judging by the person's other stickers I'm sure it wasn't. Also, some fool cut the McCain half off of his McCain/Palin sign, and has left the Palin portion stuck to the fence in front of his house. :eyes:

4. Most times I go to the dump...
...excuse me, the 'transfer station'...there's a guy with an old McCain/Palin bumper sticker with 'McCain' neatly exacto-knifed out on his trailer. So they're out there...

11. I saw a cheap-looking bumper sticker (black text, orange background)
that said, "John McCain hit the bulls eye with Sarah Palin" (?) with everything but "Sarah Palin" crudely crossed out with black magic marker.

It looked real professional-like.

5. I am going to donate to Palin all through the primaries
The longer she stays in the race, the worse she will look to the general population while the evangeliban, fundistan and Buchananistas support her ad nauseum

7. I have mixed feelings about that. She is a scary nutcase, but it is my
humble belief that if she was at the top of their ticket, we would get 65% or more of the vote, so that would be good...

8. So did I.
Small rural WI town - maybe 11,000 people. It was on the back of a pickup truck. There was a Bush/Cheney sticker and an NRA sticker as well. I just shook my head and laughed. Said more to me about the lack of intelligence of the driver than anything.

10. "Change You'll Be Begging For!" ???
Don't they think about these phrases before they print bumper stickers?

14. It's because
if she gets elected, we'll all have to beg for change because it's the only money anyone will have!

12. My great-aunt is a big Palin fan...
I've only talked to her once about it, right before the 2008 election. "She's a real person" was the basis of her support.

And I'd have to agree. My aunt owns a farm, loves to hunt, and runs a resturaunt, and I have no doubt that Sarah Palin is probably a lot like her in some ways. But one thing I will never get is why people believe that "Someone Like Me" would make a good President.

Of course, I voted for Obama because he is an educated man who values nuance (which I a basic necessity as far as I'm concerned) and I would describe myself the same way (though not nearly as educated).

13. Saw a "Sarah!" yard sign in the neighborhood
when I moved in last February. I encourage my dog to crap in THAT yard as much as possible. Yes, I do clean up as required by city ordinance.

17. It is, like, an imperative
That if you live here and have a McCain/Palin sticker on your car, that you still have not removed it.

Also, I see "W The President" (yes, but only formerly so) and Bush Cheney 2000 stickers from time to time.

Sometimes all three on one car.
