2. No. But cases in which he must testify could potentially be harmed.

However, since there is not an adjudication in which his lies have been ascertained judicially, it is very unlikely any defense lawyer would be allowed to get into evidence the cop's lying in this matter to influence another case.

Ms. Whalen doesn't want to make this into a federal case and I assume Dr. Gates already told Obama he wouldn't so we can get on with the health care debate. I doubt this will get very much play in the media.

His veracity in court is something a defense lawyer would bring up if he were investigated or tried. If neither of those things happens, no one would really be able to use it.

If nothing else, I hope this guy is dis-invited from teaching that racial profiling class because apparently, he's been faking his way through it.
