Obama can bring some Goose Island Red Felt to share; Crowley can bring some Sam Adams Summer Ale; and Gates some Capital City Amber Waves Ale.

Fire up a bowl and watch everyone get along just fine. I've seen more fights break out over a "friendly" beer than I care to recount.

21. From The Caucus in The NYT, |
|
"White House spokesman Robert Gibbs promised Budweiser, the all-American king of beers." I am aghast and shaken to the core. http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/07/27/white-house-suds-for-gates-and-police-officerThere are so many really fine beers out of the Boston area. Best political choice - not my beer choice - would be Sam Adams. Reportedly, Sgt. Crowley drinks Blue Moon, which is a Coors Beer. Coors - no comment

You can also rest assured, now that Obama has come out in favor of beer, that the Republicans will now be opposed to beer. They won't have enough votes in Congress to actually bring back prohibition, but it will be a great symbolic victory for them to stand together in opposition to the Obama agenda, and bring much acclaim from the people who always vote for them anyway.

33. Bells Two Hearted Ale, or Great Lakes Burning River Ale. Schlafly APA |
|
would be good. Stone IPA, Bells Expedition Stout, and Founders Centennial IPA (heavy on the malt) would be nice. If a Wheat Ale is their choice, Bells Oberon is a good choice.
For the non drinker, Vernor's Ale, or Sprite with Mango nectar.

Do we really want Obama to give the right more ammo by picking a microbrew? And it can't be Coors for obvious reasons. Just stick to Bud, and get this shit over with. It shouldn't even be happening in the first place.

36. My beer choices for the party: |
|
Officer Crowley: Stone Brewery Arrogant Bastard ale.
Professor Gates: Doesn't like beer, he gets a pass. Maybe a nice Cabernet. If beer is required, something like St. Pauli Girl... it's light yet flavorful with a mild aftertaste.
President Obama: Anything better than Bud. (My apologies to people who actually like it. I know there's a few out there.) Steinlager is really tasty and still in the lager family. If he really wanted to drive the birfers nuts (well, more nuts) he should get Mac & Jack's African amber. I can't say for sure, but I think President Obama would really like Deschutes Brewery's Mirror Pond pale ale.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I am an admitted beer snob. I have tried more kinds of beer than I can count (and I can count pretty high). I prefer micros, but there are a few macros and imports that are totally awesome. I prefer ales, pales, ambers, and especially IPAs. Most of the beers I suggested for the three gentlemen in the exclusive beer party are from northwest breweries. If you are reading this, and you are familiar with Deschutes brewery, we could get along really well. :)
Dang, thinking of these beers makes me thirsty. It's hot out, mom-in-law has my kids, and I'm sure it's "beer-thirty" somewhere in the world... I'm going to raid my piggy bank bucket for a few bucks, and I'm off to my local grocer.
Cheers. :toast:

|
and I think I found some good choices for them. For Crowley - Arrogant Bastard Ale, for President Obama - Mojo India Pale Ale, for Gates - Bitter Woman Ale.
