I did not use the boilerplate message. It's bland and it is unconvincing.

I told my friends that first, this was not spam. Second, I don't like to send political causes, but this is important.

Third, I mentioned what happened to two people I know who needed medical care and didn't get it. No deaths, but horrible jumping through hoops to get basic needs taken care of, and in one case, bankruptcy.

Fourth, I mentioned that Big Pharma and Big Insurance are spending millions to broadcast lies about "socialized medicine."

Fifth and finally, I mentioned that Americans pay more for medical care than any other country, and we are FIFTIETH in quality care in the world.

This should not be a "canned campaign." If you make your appeal personal and specific, and send it only to the people you know will listen, it will help a great deal.
