The unemployed need to start forming Unemployed Unions |
|
I know it was done in the 30's. Unions of unemployed people. The only way they had a voice. First action could be to march on DC right after the recess, just so those asses know how many there really are wanting REAL health care reform.
Just think about, if a movement started to get just half of the unemployed to DC on the day Congress comes back?
I am not sure how the ball gets rolling on this but it is the only way the assholes will wake up.
One positive is that there is certainly no fucking employer who can stop it - because it's a Union of the Unemployed !!

The UUU: Union of the Unemployed and Under-Employed
Mission: To advocate for the basic needs of the unemployed, under-employed and their families. To foster opportunities for job creation and promote job security.
Start a 501c3. Create a method for people to start a chapter in their area. Create a communication hub on the web & a way to accept donations (you can't really enforce dues).
I think you'd find no shortage of potential members and motivated organizers.

9. Thanks for the constructive suggestions, rucky |

I think it's a 'go'. Might even get a few sardonic & cynical du'ers on board. Of course the trolls will still be sitting in the dust at a NASCAR track, I suppose.

I can't help myself when I see an idea that captures my imagination - even when it's from the '30's.
If the trolls are naysaying, it means you're onto something!

I'm a former GD and LBN Mod and have several threads ongoing in GD and LBN; being a Lounge regular isn't a character flaw. I don't believe DU should be segregated along forum lines so I participate in most of the big forums here, including The Lounge. :hi:
