I tried to post a comment, but I'm not sure if it worked or not. May I suggest a site meter to you if you don't already have one?

The site meter would tell you how many views you are getting, where the viewers are coming from and what times they are coming. If you Google on site meters you can find some that offer both free and pay options based on the amount of information you want. That's what I said in the post, so if it did go, please excuse the repetition.

I liked your article on health insurance, and keep writing. A lot of people do read blogs but don't post comments. It doesn't mean that no one is seeing what you write.;)

yes, you will want a counter or site meter for each page. My husband and I had a peace blog until I got too sick to write. We had pages on different subjects. The site meters told us what people wanted most to see, and what they followed closely. After months of silence, we did get replies with feedback and opinions, and were able to respond to them.

Another way to get people to come to your blog is to visit other blogs, comment, email the bloggers and make friends. They usually are struggling with the same things you are and will blog roll you if they like what they see. If you see a blog that speaks to you, large or small, blog roll them. It gives more interest to what you are writing, and is another good way to get to know other bloggers. You are all in it together, and you will have a better time just writing for your blog. I met some very interesting people that way. Many other bloggers, peace groups, peace advocates, soldiers and individuals from all over the world who had hit the blog on Google, then returned. There were even some governmental entities cruising silently by to see what we were up to, not very nice ones, I'm afraid. I knew they were trying to scare me, so I would make a graphic of the site meter showing the intrusion. Then I would post the graphic on the blog, and write up a big article addressed to them telling them that if they wanted to know something about the blog, they should write and ask like anyone else instead of sneaking around. Then I would go to other bloggers and ask them to link to the article. It was an extreme outing for the feds, I guess.:rofl: They kept coming, but I got a good laugh out of it. Go for it, and don't get discouraged.

It takes time, but readers will find you. One tip is to put your URL in sig lines or in comment forms that ask for it when you participate on various sites, including news sites.

For the first two months I had 0 visitors and then I was happy to get 50 after that. Now I'm getting over a thousand. Still not the big time, by any means, but it grew progressively each month over the six months I've had the blog.

I don't worry about talking to myself, though. I don't even have open comments. I'm just writing for whoever wants to read it.

22. I attempted to write an agreement in a comment and I was asked to

"select a profile". I realized I couldn't post it without first signing up for a google account or other blog type software like type pad, etc. When I was done I refreshed the page and lost my comment. Duh. Anyway. Nice work.
