Colin Powell Suggests Republicans Are Afraid Of Rush Limbaugh
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/07/28/colin-powell-suggests-rep_n_246662.html

Colin Powell, in an appearance on Larry King tonight, said that Rush Limbaugh is entitled to say anything he wants, and that he doesn't take "umbrage" with any of the remarks Limbaugh directs at him because he "can handle his criticism. However, Powell warns that

the problem I have with the party right now is when says things that I consider to be completely outrageous, and I respond to it, I would like to see other members of the party do likewise. But they don't.

When King asks if he thinks GOP members are afraid to take him on, Powell responds,

I know of several instances where sitting members in Congress or elsewhere in positions of responsibility in the party made like criticisms of Rush and within 24 hours they were backing away because there is a strong base of support for Mr. Limbaugh.

What is there to fear in the likes of Limpballs? In all seriousness, what?

6. Ah. So when Powell speaks of "republican" he's speaking
of those in power who are dependent on said dittoheads. Gotcha.

Sometimes it's embarrassing to be an American. Fuck.

3. I think he's viewed by the
single-celled organisms who populate the GOPigs as a kingmaker, that his influence with "the base" - whoever the hell that is? - is so VAST, he must be obeyed regardless of whatever disgusting position he is espousing.

That's my guess.

Without Rush, WHO is the leader of the GOPigs?

Michael Steele?

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHA!

10. I think Mark Tawin said it the best.
Never get into an argument with a man who buys ink by the barrel.

His listeners may not read, but the sure think he's right.

That's the GOP's base.

4. Of course they are. Limpballs, the viagra toting pedophile, will
eviscerate them on his show if they don't fall in line. The only way Re-Pubic-Rats will get rid of him is if they absolutely turn their backs on him and belittle his bigoted ideas which will never happen.

5. Powell on King .....
General Powell is not someone I tend to listen to. But I did watch part of the Larry King show tonight, and Powell said a lot of interesting things. I was surprised that he said good things about the movie "W."

7. I bet Powell is right....
The Republican Party is currently taking it on the chin from all sides. Limbaugh, on the other hand, can mobilize opinion instantly. The GOP knows that. The math is pretty simple, when you think about it.

The media monster described in "The Republican Noise Machine" has now turned into the GOP's own personal Frankenstein monster. Serves 'em right.

9. limpballs could have been one the reasons powell withdrew from his presidential bid
limpballs ran him into the ground everyday for weeks...limpballs called him "the little general" everyday. powells wife grew tired of the shit that was being flung at her husband and told him to withdraw.

12. Here's what the GOP has to worry about
The GOP has lost so much market share, they can't afford to give up any more. Even if Republican politicians don't particularly care for the nutwing of the party, they have no choice but to appease them or at the very least not invite their ire, because without them they don't have much of anything left.
