2. Pretty damned doubtful.
But I'd love to be proven wrong.

3. Obama Demands: The Bill I Sign Must Include Public Option
(A)ny plan I sign must include an insurance exchange: a one-stop shopping marketplace where you can compare the benefits, cost and track records of a variety of plans - including a public option to increase competition and keep insurance companies honest - and choose what's best for your family.

5. But he's not exactly a man of his word either
Obama said no former lobbyist would work in his administration either, said
there would be transparency, was against warrantless wiretapping before he was for it, etc.
He hasn't been keeping many of his promises.

4. He was pushing for public option in the town hall meeting yesterday

one minute video link here:

http://www.dailykostv.com/w/001990/

quote from Obama's town hall:

"And I have to say, the reason this has been controversial is a lot of people have heard this phrase "socialized medicine" and they say, we don’t want government-run health care; we don’t want a Canadian-style plan. Nobody is talking about that. We’re saying, let’s give you a choice. You can choose the private marketplace, or this other approach.

And I got a letter the other day from a woman; she said, I don’t want government-run health care, I don’t want socialized medicine, and don’t touch my Medicare. (Laughter.) And I wanted to say, well, I mean, that’s what Medicare is, is it’s a government-run health care plan that people are very happy with. But I think that we’ve been so accustomed to hearing those phrases that sometimes we can’t sort out the myth from the reality."

6. Whatever they pass will have an out.
They will have some thing they will call public option. It won't be, but then they call nuclear missiles PeaceKeepers. But it will give any Democrat cover to vote for it and give the president cover to sign it.
