Bring the Public Option to a full vote in both chambers. Make them defy the President.
We the voters need to know which blue dogs NEED to be defeated in 2010's primary season.

If the Public Option is defeated in either chamber, then we know which Blue Pukes to vote against and march/protest against. If it's defeated then we have campaigns to organize and we will have plenty of work to do.

Get the voting record of these corporate puppets on record so we know who to defeat.

Make the Conservadems DEFY THE PEOPLE AND THEIR PRESIDENT PUBLICLY BY VOTING AGAINST A PUBLIC OPTION!

OR

Forcing a vote may actually "coerce" them to change their mind and vote for passage of a PO.

LET'S FIND OUT WHERE THEIR LOYALTIES LIE.

Affordable access to health care for all is patriotic!

1. Not a bad idea. Force them to vote for America, or vote for the insurance companies.

11. I've been calling and emailing the White House.
And ask that the President demand that it be brought to a full vote.

18. now if a few million others would do the same. how do you organize it, that's the rub.
Edited on Wed Jul-29-09 03:51 PM by Hannah Bell
on edit: & even then, will they do it?

my impression is the bank bailout had an unprecedented volume of negative calls/letters/emails.

but they rammed it through regardless.

i think the idea's good but organization is the hitch.

& it's where our left/dem leadership fails us.

they seem to do fine at organizing get out the vote phone banks, but not on the issues once the elections over.

Blue Dogs Are Lap Dogs for Insurance Industry
By Jeff Woods in Congress, Politics, WoodsWednesday, Jul. 29 2009 @ 7:46AM

On Pete Kotz' post this morning about how the Blue Dogs are killing health-care reform, commenter Rex Hammock is demanding facts to back up Pete's assertion that the Blue Dogs are rolling over for the health and insurance industry in return for campaign cash. Well, we did a little quick addition here on our breakfast napkin ... Ha! Actually there's a new report on this very matter, and here's what it says:

6. That's the purpose of delaying this!...
They don't want a public record of being opposed to any reforms favored by the people. And that's what the lobbyists are paying the big bribes for!

22. Things seem to be settling down somewhat.
Edited on Wed Jul-29-09 04:20 PM by Blue_In_AK
The new governor is making a serious attempt to mend bridges with the legislators, and the local media in particular. The former governor had not granted any sit-down interviews with the local folks since the infamous "turkey" debacle.

Here's a report from this morning's Anchorage Daily News. http://www.adn.com/parnell/story/879944.html It would seem that Parnell may actually live the values that Palin said she believed in. What a concept.

I don't agree with his politics at all -- much too conservative for my taste -- but I at least approve of the tone he's trying to set.

edit: I was pleased to see this:

Parnell said he would rely on Health and Social Services Commissioner Bill Hogan to choose a new public health director after Bev Wooley left last month at Palin's request. Parnell said social issues would not factor into hiring her replacement or filling other jobs:

"I'm not requiring anybody to meet a litmus test for service in state government."

Allegedly Wooley was canned because she disagreed with the governor over certain women's issues, most particularly a requirement for parental consent for teenage abortions.

Although Sarah Palin resigned with "absolutely no plans" concerning her future, Insider Radio reports that the former Alaska governor may have set her sights on a radio show
