Lawrence O'Donnell "outs" Mika on her "spray-on tans"! It was fun to watch MJ today!

Mika had started in withher usual rant about Americans' unhealthy habits. This time it was tanning beds. Of course, no one on the show thought tanning beds were a good thing. Then Lawrence brings up spray on tans and said "You get them, don't you, Mika? So does Britney Spears..."

Mika's eyes narrowed. She had just nodded that yes, she had gotten spray on tans in the past but the Spears reference really smarted. Lawrence then said he was guilty of mentioned her name so close to Spears', "I know that look Mika gets..."

Mika must be pissed to high heaven with Lawrence...

too. it's not like the tanning bed cancer thing is a surprise.... i have often said why pay for the skin cancer from a tanning bed when i can get it for free just by going out in my yard... but mika is very thin, too... and i wonder at if she even eats....

10. Dihydroxyacetone is the usual spray-on tanning agent

It is non-mutagenic in mammals. However, it has been shown to be mutagenic in bacteria according to the Merck MSDS.

Note that Dihydroxyacetone increases free radicals when combined with sun exposure. Therefore, combining spray-on tanning with tanning beds would be a very bad thing to do.

16. Spray on tans are actually pretty safe

The only chemical in question is the Dihydroxyacetone one...and that is pretty safe and has been approved for topical use for some time.

Even the whole "orange skin" thing has been mitigated with more natural colors. The only problem is for some reason the calloused skin on the palms of hands and feet seems to turn yellowish with the spray tans.

I think O'Donnell had had enough of her nonsense. I wish he were on the show more often. It is such a pleasure every time he speaks (on any subject).

She's not being honest with herself - otherwise she'd have a sense of humor, but she plays the part of everyone's little sister as if she has to "suffer" their teasing. They'd stop if she'd just say, yeah, so what?

The segment was on MJ's dependence on that IV drug to sleep, and O'Donnell ragged on her about using pills to sleep. Said something like, "Here, let me shake your purse and you'll hear the rattling."

Mika didn't look all that amused by it all.

Mika's pretty puffed up, it seems to me. I just started watching MJ, so I don't know her all that well yet, but I often want to poke her with a hatpin or something and let some of the air out. But, I often feel that way about teevee talking heads.
