I'm sitting there in a full waiting room of an auto tire shop and CNN is on the TV with Sanjay Gupta and the rest of these carnival barkers going into full "scare" mode spewing outright misinformation about health care reform....after they're done with this propaganda the next story up is about some swimmer busting open his shorts and the laugh-fest between the teleprompter readers begins....this is what passes as "news".....just un-f**king-real...

"oh my God, How much is this going to cost? - Some say we can't afford it - Some say there will be rationing of health care - Some say you will be forced into a government-run plan -" Now cue the nano-second sound bite of truth to all the previous bullshit statements -- Now back to more fear mongering about how you will be forced to drink bleach by blood soaked government bureaucrats denying your heart surgery..... Just total bullshit propaganda....as if the industry-sponsored bullshit carried the same weight as truth....balancing reality with nonsense For "real" information? http://www.democracynow.org/2009/7/16/former_insurance_exec_wendell_porterhttp://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/07102009/potter_testimony.htmlhttp://www.thomhartmann.com/?option=com_content&task=view&id=295&Itemid=113

people state a problem space, like, how much it's going to cost, but then they don't address the problem.
It costs because doctors routinely mark up their incidentals over R&C to include profit margin. Either the insurance pays, or the deductible/out of pocket pays, but the "cost" is recorded by the insurance company regardless of WHO pays.
The insurance company then says, hey, this finger-in-your-rectum prostate test cost $5.00 for the rubber glove, $2.00 for the KY jelly and a quarter hour increment of the doctor's billable time to perform the procedure.
Of course, the whole tube of KY didn't cost .50 and the nitrile glove was about .04 for a total material cost of .54 cents. Your insurance company pays 12 times the material cost plus a minimum margin increment, so YES it's expensive. now deal with the cost, not the observation.
Why does a doctor charge an obscene amount to stick his finger up your ass, and is it justifiable? If I had it my way I'd be charging to allow someone to stick their finger up my ass, if I were so inclined.

They have three main stories: Sarah Palin, Beer-gate, and Michael Jackson.
I'm sick to death of all of them.

5. And to think Dr. Gupta once topped Obama's list for Surgeon General |
|
I wonder what he would be saying if he had snagged the job?
