Palin tests radio waters.
Alaska’s now former Governor is coy about her future political plans, but radio is at least one option she’s leaving on the table. While not exactly shopping the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential candidate, sources say Palin representatives have been quietly testing the waters to see how much interest radio syndicators have for her.

Sources say Palin hasn’t committed to radio either, but rather it could be a possible next step for her. It isn’t unusual for a defeated national candidate to turn to radio. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s short-form commentaries air on more than 400 stations via Citadel Media. He remains among the names circulated for a potential presidential run in 2012.

Coming to radio would be an ironic twist for Palin, whose position on the media is pretty clear. “Quit making things up,” she told reporters in her final speech as Governor last week.

1. On the odd chance that I may, by accident, hear that screeching voice come over the airwaves,
I am taking a hammer to every radio that I currently own.

6. She is not well suited to be a disembodied voice.
Once people can't actually see her and are left with only that awful nasal whiny voice, her popularity will slide. With just that dreadful voice and the stupid things she says with it, and without the distraction of her appearance, she will have much less appeal.

Or will she? Maybe her batshit worshippers like that voice.

12. Well, I have heard one of her :"speeches"sans video
and believe me, that is not something any sane person would want to hear often. However, as you say, her batshit worshippers may well be programmed to respond to her screechy disjointed frequency.

10. It'll never happen IMO, she'll have to talk to people who sometimes disagree with her.
Katie Couric simply challenged her and she lost it. Can she do that 5 days a week? Nope.

My guess is that they'll find a way to get her on a TV screen (probably Faux) while finding a way to limit her voice. Then she'll quit.

to whatever station she's on.

4. That might cause her to go away faster, actually.
Think about it -- if her loyal followers had to listen to the voice and try to follow what she's saying without the distraction of her appearance, they might just say "huh?" and realize they have no freaking clue what she's saying. They can't stare at her mesmerizing beauty when she's on the radio.

so- yes, Sarah, you're future may lie in the wireless etherbox.

11. Been The Plan All Along...
Radio is easy to do...she can sit eating bon-bons in Wasilla or between shopping sprees on Fifth Avenue. There's built-in networks...Salem in particular...who would clear her in every major market in a heartbeat. They'd love it to throw up against Rushbo. While she's a political lightweight, I see her becoming a hate radio heavyweight very quickly. She's ideal for the "medium"...she's ignorant, arrogant and long winded.

14. A voice made for radio .... no doubt

She can add radio to her list of failed adventures.

Mayor of Wasilla ..... she hired a city manager after putting Wasilla in a huge debt.
Alaska Oil & Gas Commission .... she quit
Governor of Alaska ..... she quit 1/2 through her term

27. When Lisa Bloom joined Court TV, the message boards were bombarded with complaints
Edited on Wed Jul-29-09 12:13 PM by rocktivity
about what an awful speaking voice she had. Someone even went as far as to suggest that she was probably very successful as a lawyer because judges ruled in her favor just to shut her up. I thought, "Oh, come on--if she sounded THAT bad, SOMEBODY at Court TV would have noticed." After I finally got to hear Bloom, I posted an apology on the message board. And when I learned Bloom was the daughter of celeb lawyer Gloria Allred, the mystery of how she got hired was solved!

20. Just what America needs - another 2 hours of hate filled radio hosted by a polarizing personality.
My guess - if the viewers can't see her, her numbers won't be so good. They'll want to see her winkin' & grinnin' & bein' all folksy.

23. I hope, hope, hope she gets a radio show!!! It will set off a
turf war.

CryBaby, Pigboy and the Manatee already take up 9 hours every day on hatefest radio.

So, if Sarah got a syndicated radio show, it would be interesting to see who would be pushed to the side in their ugly race for ratings......someone won't end up being very happy when Sarah robs them of their coin!

26. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give her a radio show!! Hell - give her a 4 hour daily TV show.....
Am I the only one who thinks these right wing lunatics need MORE of a forum, not less...... The more they speak, the more absurd they get. They can't HELP but one-up each other with the bullshit and conspiracy theories. More Palins and Limbaughs can only further splinter the GOP and alienate their base. Give them enough rope and it will take the repubs 25 years to recover from the damage they are inflicting on themselves.....

Am I wrong?

Eh, wouldn't be the first time if I am............
