Republicans come roaring back
by Shawn Steel - Statewide (California)

7-23-2009 6:07 pm
http://www.flashreport.org/blog.php?postID=2009072321072608&post_offsetP=0#comm_2009072419451318">When the Wall Street Journal bellows that the "Budget Deal Gives Boost to California Republicans", you know the Party has finally turned the the corner.

flashreport.org is a wingnut site, but know thy enemy. Their goal is to starve all things liberal or progressive into submission.

1. Oh, no doubt
As people start dropping dead in California because services they used to take for granted are no longer available because of the draconian budget cuts imposed on the state by the Republican governor and an intransigent Republican minority (motto: Just big enough to gum up the works), there will surely be a groundswell of support from the survivors for the executioners of their family members and friends.

It takes an uncommon mind to think of things like this, that's for darn sure.

3. It's the Norquist Pledge.
But they pledge to cut only liberal programs that make for "big government," not conservative programs that make for "big government."

There will be a backlash, but how big and will it be enough?

5. "Starve the beast": The beast being SS, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare
in fact, any type of safety net program and by all means any program
started by FDR and LBJ.

4. Yes, because the WSJ is some bastion of liberalism.
Frankly, I'm surprised if the WSJ ever doesn't kiss right wing ass.
