US terror arrests spur warning to police (Stories like this scare me)
I don't know about anyone else..but when I read stories like this.. my "Patriot Act" BS sensors kick in.

Homeland Security and the TSA only have one tool, a hammer, and everything looks like a nail.

Maybe it is cynicism working overtime... but I can see the borders being closed To KEEP AMERICANS IN, Homeland Security involved in domestic spying, U.S. Troops deployed locally.... etc, etc, etc
---------------------------------------------------

WASHINGTON — Anti terrorism officials are increasingly concerned about American-bred extremists who travel abroad for terror training and then return home, sometimes quietly recruiting followers over the years.

Federal authorities have issued a bulletin to law enforcement agencies around the country on the heels of the arrest Monday in North Carolina of a man whose devotion to the cause of violent jihad allegedly began 20 years ago.

The internal bulletin — reviewed by The Associated Press — says the FBI and the Homeland Security Department are very worried about the danger posed by little-noticed Americans traveling abroad to learn terrorism techniques, then coming back to the United States, where they may be dormant for long periods of time while they look for followers to recruit for future attacks.

6. I hope you are correct.... I'm trying to be optimistic...
I was hoping the TSA would be reigned in by now, reduced to the lecherous thieving security guards that they are... but instead they are being injecting them with steroids.

7. Fear is fear. If they scare Obama enough, watch out.
We all defend ourselves when we are afraid. It's simply biological. That is why we need to have the rule of law above the president. Obama refuses to enforce that rule of law on Bush and Cheney. Therefore I do not trust Obama with regard to obeying the rule of law when frightened. He is not really a strong proponent of the rule of law for all.

2. Huh.
So what's next? Are we going to have to provide itineraries to the gov't every time we travel abroad? Is there going to be a waiting period to travel so they can back ground checks on us before we leave the country?

3. I would have thought terrorism making skills are like any other skill set...
Wouldn't you lose a lot of it as each year passes without applying it? Also, a lot of things change in twenty years. Sure, maybe you could blow shit up in ADA like a champ back in the 80's, but how many international terrorist organizations need people with that skill set today?
