I broke my elbow in June which resulted in a trip to the ER and two follow up visits. Total out of pocket cost: $25; $15 from the hospital/dr visits and $10 for the painkillers.
I am lucky to have outstanding insurance that is 100% funded by my employer. But it shouldn't be the luck of the draw or employer. Decent, affordable health care is a basic human right, not luck. Why should I be the lucky one and not someone else? Why can't people see that? Health care costs should not depend on who you're lucky enough to be employed by.
I am lucky. I wish we all were.

Nobody should have to make a choice between medical care or a house payment. Nobody.

4. Same with us.. I had eye surgery and paid $20 co-pay..BUT |
|
until people like us LOSE what we have, there will never be single-payer.. People do not take to the streets to protest in huge numbers until they LOSE what they have.
Not enough people will ever take to the streets to get something for someone else who has less or none. Some will, but not in enough numbers.
People are surprised at at national strikes in France, germans & GB work so well. It;s because millions of people march to keep what they have.
