Any facebookers out there?

There's a facebook group that could stand a membership boost, particularly in light of today's successful obfuscation of a floor vote on health care reform by the Blue Dog weasels. It seems to be the only group of its kind on facebook, yet there are a number of pro-Blue Dog groups. I think the progressive voice needs to be better represented here.

23. America is not Ancient Rome

In the last 70 years we have taken a turn toward being a militaristic based society. Before that we were a self-contained, continental nation (although we obliterated a native population to lay claim to that continent) rich in natural resources.

We made a major error by opting to become a world imperial power rather than adjusting to our declining natural abundance. We were driven to that error by the capitalistic theory of profit motivation and continual growth.

I hope that Paris is the better example all the way around.
