Two DeKalb County Officers are being investigated for allegedly performing a background check on President Barack Obama.
They have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Officials would not release the names of the officers. The incident occurred on July 20, according to DeKalb County officials.

The United States Secret Service notified county officials that DeKalb County computer equipment was utilized to do a query on the President.

Such behavior, said William “Miz” Miller, DeKalb Public Safety director, is not to be tolerated.

Gee I wonder what could have brought all this about. These cops are really stupid to think that this was going to go unnoticed.

1. But you can never say they act stupidly. Everyone knows it, but nobody may talk about it.

8. Imagine, how many people they can check on who don't have the fortune of Secret Service protection.
You can probably do checks on anybody you can think of, and likely, they won't know about it. Because unlike Barack Obama, there isn't a team of people constantly looking out for your safety 24/7.

10. Good point. Actually this has happened before in Dekalb County
Well not to President Obama, but other officers have been caught using computers to do all kinds of crazy spying type shit. A couple officers a few years ago were fired and then arrested for using the police terminals in one building to do background checks on women they were dating, and one officer even put out a hold and detain want on a woman that had broken up with him, just days before. I wish I had the link handy. I will do a search to see if I can find it. But this kinda thing has actually happened several times if I can remember correctly.

11. WorldNutDaily is offering a hundred grand to anybody that can prove Obama's a citizen
Without using the well-published birth certificate, of course.

Betcha these cops were like "Dude, easy money!"

At least until the Secret Service came by and took them away for a little "chat".

17. Did they learn nothing from the "Joe the Plumber" debacle?
Helen Jones Kelly lost her directorship in Ohio because she thought she could get away with using public resources to dig up dirt on "Joe".

People should learn from the mistakes of others.
