Nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.
Nothing.

I'm up late tonight, revisiting last year's election on youtube. I came across the will.i.am Obama salute. It reminded me of why we give a damn. For fuck's sake, people! Obama told us what we need to do! Speak out. Millions of voices, calling for change. We have 10 times as many people as the tea baggers and the nay-sayers.

8. Nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions ...
of voices calling for change.

Nothing, except a good set of earplugs, the corporations and their media.

10. Exactly nowhere
Although the antiwar sentiment did hand the Democrats majorities.

Where they promptly funneled more money to the imperialism machine.

14. The public is so locked out of the political process.
The three chambers of the Estates General in France prior to the Revolution allocated votes as follows:

The First Estate - 130,000 votes by the Catholic Clergy;

The Second Estate - 175,000 to 350,000 votes by the Nobility;

The Third Estate - 27,000,000 citizens with a TOTAL of ONLY ONE VOTE cast as representative of the entire class.

This one vote could be very influential if one were concerned with what the citizens care about, although it could not swing an election by its tiny number. It would be better than the ZERO votes 300 million people now have in this so-called democracy where there is no public input to the legislative process.

The people vote for show. Congress votes for Dough.

The majority of the people want universal health care and at least want the single payer option on the table.

The U.S.A. leaves the people without any input into what can even be discussed.

Liberty! Equality! Fraternity! (or whatever non-sexist inclusive term is to be used for all)

16. Well maybe just one thing. The big money of CorpAmerica.
Pres Obama's health plan is the test and we all know it. We all know that the right solution is single payer. But apparently our millions of voices aren't being listened to. We might get some kind of public option but probably a watered down version or worse. The polls are showing that the big money's propaganda machine is working and the public is losing faith in Pres Obama's plan and they haven't even brought out their big guns.

I wish I lived in a country where the millions of voices calling for change would be listened to, but this country is CorpAmerica.
