Anybody listen/watch Fox & Friends this a.m. with that British couple? |
|
What was that.... The British woman said she wished she had the U.S.'s health care "system." WTF?!!???
For any who didn't watch/listened (I listed occasionally on XM Radio on my way to work so I can do some scream therapy):
they had yet another horror story about government health care. This time a British man and his wife discussed how he was diagnosed with advanced macular degeneration and that one drug, which is extremely expensive, could have been used to save his sight in one eye, but the NHS didn't pay for the drug, so he lost his sight. Then, he admitted that his eyesight was already too far gone for the drug to have helped anyway, but now he's risking his sight in his other eye. Then, one of the Fox mental midgets asked the couple if they would have preferred the U.S. "system" to which the woman replied that she wished she had the U.S. "system."
If anyone knows their name, I'd like to investigate their story and possibly let them know they are full of shit. Of course, no one at Fox asked them how much they had to pay for the many visits to eye specialists, etc. Nor did anyone explain that in the U.S., with a lot of insurance plans one would have to get a pre-approval from a primary physician before being able to see a specialist and one would have to meet a deductible before a percentage of the costs would be paid by the insurance and who even knows if an insurance company would have paid for this very expensive drug.

2. I'm sure a lot of Americans wish they had access to the American health care "system.". |
|
That's the point that all of these idiots keep missing, whether willfully or not.

3. Scare tactics. Wonder how much they paid that British couple?
|

I didn't see the clip so I can't help w/indentification but it doesn't surprise me that Faux is going full-tilt to defeat Obama on health care.
Unfortunately, all the negative bullshit seems to be working on public opinion.

4. This is one of many reasons that we need a "News Czar" |
|
Reporting like this is the equivalent of yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater. It's not true and is designed just to cause havoc. We need someone in charge who can act quickly to shut down this kind of nonsense.
There are more egregious things than this (e.g. Glen Beck's inciting people to overthrow the government, Rush Limbaugh's racist hate speech, etc.), but they're all horrible and need to be stopped.
A News Czar would have the authority to act against TV, radio, newspapers/magazines, and book publishers who promote hatred and lying (e.g. Fox News, EIB, Wall St Journal, Weekly Standard). This would enforce balanced reporting, stop the lying, and promote truth. It's is past time for such a position.
