In 1993, no Republican voted for Bill Clinton's budget plan, and many of them |
|
said "Don't blame us for the economic carnage which will result from this!"
They predicted doom and gloom, at best ... a second Depression which would make the "Great Depression" look like a pony ride ... and deficits as far as the eye could see ... on a clear night with the Hubble telescope.
As Clinton wound his way through his second term, the deficits shrunk to the point where there actually was, for the first time in decades, a SURPLUS ...
The media did not bother to go back and play all those "doom and gloom" Repugniconvicts predicting the Apocalypse ...
Various people were actually questioning why someone would want the job of President in 2000, when the market was "inevitably" going to make a "correction" ... Bush was installed with relative peace, a surplus, and a media which was fellating him better than Marilyn Chambers ... along with all the information on the mastermind of the USS Cole bombing, Osama bin Laden ...
The media conveniently ignores the fact that the Repukes have been saying that Social Security would fail and is evil ... from the date it was first proposed.
The media ignores the fact that Repugniconvicts denounced Medicare as a failure waiting to happen ... since day one ...
So, if and when health care is passed, with not one vote FOR by a Repugniconvict, and in 10 years, when it actually helps this country recover from the REPUG dictatorship of 2001-2007 ...
the media will once again ignore the naysayers, and give the Repugniconvicts a free pass ... and the media will, as it did in 2000, enable a Repug to reap what the Dems have sown ... after the short-attention-span public forget the struggles which got us there.

6. there have been plenty of Repug voters against extending benefits ... |
|
and don't forget ... minimum wage shouldn't exist at all according to Repugs ... the intellectual disconnect between talking point 1: "NOBODY works for minimum wage" and talking point 2: "It will force small businesses who have workers at minimum wage to either pay more or go bankrupt."
Remember, John McCain promised $50/hour to pick tomatoes ... when someone stood up to take the offer, McCain showed that his bravery was only when he was in the cockpit away from the fighting ...

8. and yet, they don't take the credit for the legislation that they passed in 1999 |
|
(With Phil Gramm authoring it) which set up the market crash in 2007 ... they say "Clinton signed it!"
Intellectual disconnect warning!
But all this that happened was due to Nancy Pelosi and her estrogen running Congress, not Bush vetoing any legislation pushed by Dems and getting every Repugniconvict to sign "in lockstep" and "along party lines" for whatever he wanted ...
