Every time I turn on CSPAN, there is a republican speaking. Why no democrats? Democrats need to be more outspoken. The republicans are speaking up a storm and debating many important issues. Dems sit idly by and just let this influence public opinion. That's no good.

1. The Dems are busy actually doing things, unlike the Repubs who are just talking. |

2. I had always thought C-Span to be ballanced - but not so much anymore |
|
It is really becoming noticable, and the hosts themselves promote the conservative agenda in sometimes not so subtle ways. They direct the conversations, they laugh off callers who challenge Republican guests, and they never - and I mean never - hold a guest's feet to the fire to get them to answer the questions that are asked.
I have never thought all that much of Brian Lamb, but could it be his absense from minute to minute operations has led to this? I don't know, and I do recall that earlier this past week one of the hosts noted that Brian had demanded something be done on one of the programs - showing that at least he still watched and had power to change things. Who knows?

6. I thought I was the only one who thought that. |

But it is true. The scumbags are always trying to put out some false information, and in the Senate everyone tries to be polite, instead of calling out "bullshit". Mostly all of them are phonies, caring only that they made millions off the people.

8. I find the same thing . . . I'm just getting back into watching C-span . . . |
|
I lost it for two years or so when Comcast removed it--
but that's been my sense of it --
OTOH, when Repugs ruled they really shut down Dem appearances/comments . . .
And, even if a Dem got to say something, they'd be right on top of it with
reverse spin.
The Dems aren't handicapping the Repugs for what they did -- but I still agree
that there are way too many Repugs being seen on C-span.
Dems have to be sure that they're keeping an eye on this and keeping Dems points
in spotlight.

9. I have screaming this from day one. It looks like the Democrats |
|
caved from day one giving all the Microphones on TV to the GOP.
There should have Dems from the Hill giving the positives of Insurance Reform and refuting the GOP exaggerations, myths and sometimes lies.
Instead the GOP had the full audience to get their side out.
The Democrats have got to be confrontational or they will be gone the next election.
Joe and Jane Sixpack will not let their peers walk all over them and have little respect for a party that does.

15. I don't think this is a conservative conspiracy... |
|
There is a camera fixed on the podium for continuous periods of time. It's not like more dems can't stand up and give their minute speeches. Some do but not as many. The ones that do, don't have very strong or persuasive arguments.

18. It's not a conspiracy, just a strategy And aside from hearings, |
|
Edited on Thu Jul-30-09 03:24 PM by EFerrari
Brian Lamb and his people have a lot of leeway. They pick the topics and guests on WJ, they pick which speeches or events to play and replay when there is no hearing. They pick all the events for BookTV, guests for The Communicators, etc. FAIR found they had more conservatives on than Democrats in a study about three years ago, iirc.
