10. I understand. I also have to hate you.
As do most of my friends and family. And in all hating you, this hatred brings us together.

Thank you. :)

17. I think Mizzou and KU alums need to have a beer summit
My parents are hilarious in their MU hatred. I make fun of them for it, mostly because they graduated about 45 years ago. Isn't it about time to just get over it mom and dad? :eyes:

20. I have sort of a groupthink hatred of the place.
Like, if I see a guy at a bar with a KU jersey on, I might just give him some friendly ribbing and get some in return. But if I'm watching just a bunch of nameless, faceless KU football players on the TV playing against Mizzou, I tend to get a little vicious.

42. I don't have to imagine it...the echoes are still there
It was a few years ago (less than 10). It might have been an Arizona game, maybe UCLA, but the chant seemed to go forever, getting louder every time. Neither team was even on the field and people were nearly delirious. My ears rang 'til halftime.

My dirty little secret, I'm a big fan of college football.

12. I was a TA, so it really wasn't
kid was convinced he was going to make it to the NFL... and he might have...

I kept telling him he NEEDED to take the opportunity and get good grades and chiefly learn how to study.

His coach wanted him to be at practice, because that was far more important.

All that dream came crashing down when he had a spiral compound fracture. His football career was over, sadly so was the college career. Rules or no rules, he could not take special classes for the team, since he was no longer part of the team... we tried to get him special coaching outside the team... he dropped out and I lost contact with him. To be blunt he was semi literate.

And so it goes.

I went to the University of Houston. It used to be the Southwest Conference down there with the University of Texas and so on, but U of H wasn't part of it when I was in school, and I haven't paid any attention to this sort of thing for many years.

ed. Okay, I had to look it up. Conference USA, they call it. Never heard of it.

Edited on Thu Jul-30-09 04:41 PM by cascadiance
To see how some still want to acknowledge that there's 11 schools there...

Think Michigan needs to do a bit better though this year than they did last year in football to live up to their reputation of years' past.

Iowa will be back to playing them this year again after missing them last year when they might have beaten them. It will be interesting to see how that turns out in Iowa City this year.

at tartar field? I lived on Alexandrine between 2nd and 3rd. Building was a total commune.

Grab a bottle of Ripple (red) and whatever and go see SRC.

45. Strange. I lived at the Alexandrine Hotel in 1964 after it was remodeled ...
... and while I tried to work full time (at Detroit Diesel) and carry a full credit load. (It was a disaster for my GPA.) I graduated in 1967 ... and never recalled any free concerts. Maybe that was after my time.

Solidifying conference dominance over the over-rated big 10. Top to bottom, PAC 10 is the second best conference this year behind the SEC.
