Out of all the beer on the planet, Obama picks...
Bud light. Seriously?

The most powerful man on the planet, with all the resources in it at his disposal, chose the beer that tastes like it was brewed using unflushed toilet water.

I can stand another quagmire in the middle east. I can take you ignoring gay rights and other civil liberty issues.

But this...this is just unacceptable, Mr. President.

and nothing else matters.

5. Forget the RW - what about US?
We've got plenty of good beers that are still owned and brewed by Americans. This would have been a nice touch.

Having a butler serve Bud Light? Come on.

8. He could have chosen anything other than natural ice and coors...
and I would be happy.

Hell, he could have picked bud light lime. That at least tastes semi decent.

22. Bud Light Lime..... YUCCH!
That's not beer, it's swill!

How about a Brooklyn, Sam Adams, Magic Hat, Ommegang, Rogue, Sierra Nevada, Dogfish Head, Stone, Flying Dog, Victory, Long Trail, Otter Creek, Ruffian, Smuttynose, Lake Placid, or any one of the over 1500 tasty microbrews that are all over these United States.

Note-- The ones I mentioned are some my favorites that people might have heard of. Not necessarily in that order, but only a small smattering of the American Brews that are available today.

Another note-- I used to be the VP of our local homebrew club. Making your own beer is fun. A bit of work, but fun. Not to mention, you can make beer that fits your taste.

Final note.-- As you might have figured out by now, I am quite biased. I generally only drink commercial beer if I know the person who brewed it!

14. It's lower in calories because it's lower in alcohol
and that makes sense for a couple of guys who were adversaries not too long ago. You don't want them to drink head popping homebrew. They could get smashed and come to blows.

It's lower in alcohol so he kept a clearer head.

I like that in a president even if I don't like that carbonated cat pee parading as beer.

27. He chose the most popular brand of beer in the United States without worrying about what
fucking whiny ass beer snobs had to say about it. Kudos to him for not worrying about silly appearances.

That guy DU'ers love to make fun of so much: Joe Sixpack, drinks either Bud Light, Bud, Coors Light, Coors, or MGD, in that order. Do a little research. He doesn't give a fuck about what beer snobs think. I totally respect Obama for playing right into his hands...

I'd like to add that I'm surprised you know what unflushed toilet water tastes like. I thought better than that about you, but hey, to each his own.

36. Aw hey...
I drank bongwater back in the day.

Forgive the rant, but I get tired of hearing about how bad all things American are, including Americans. It just gets old, ya know?

I would that "I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I drink Dos Equis". A squeeze of lime, a little salt on top of the can, and mmmm I'm happy. That said, if I come to your house, I'm drinking what you're offering and being polite about it the whole time.

True Story: On my first wedding anniversary, while I was a sailor in the USN, my wife and I had enough money to get a six-pack of Milwaukee's Best, and a pack of cigs. All in all, it was the best anniversary I've ever had. We drank the beer out of our wedding champagne glasses by candlelight on the front porch of a trailer in a trailer park in Jacksonville, FL.

33. Hey, don't dis Bud or Bud Light...
... they are EXTREMELY hard to make correctly, and make consistently.
The styles of these beers are American Light Lagers, and are meant to have little flavor. It's hard to make a beer with little flavor, because if there are flaws in it, they will be quite noticeable. That being the case, it's tough to make, let alone, make it that way all the time, let alone in 12 different breweries all over the US, and 15 more in other places around the planet.

I make my own beer, and know this for a fact!

Believe me, I dislike Bud, Bud Light, Bud Light Lime, and the other variants. However, I appreciate the fact that they make a respectable product, and make it consistently.

If I had to choose an AB-InBev brand of beer, it would probably be a Leffe, Hoegarden, or a Franziskaner.
