Palin Goes "Dark," Leaves Supporters Wondering

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Fans to Sarah Palin: Please, post a tidbit on Facebook. A little chirp on Twitter would be nice.

It's been five whole days since Palin stepped down as Alaska's governor and her Internet fans are dying to know what's next.

"Sarah can you give us just a hint!" writes one Facebook follower.

But the hockey mom-turned politician who promised to launch her change to private life on social networking sites has been quiet so far. In fact, she's gone "dark," leaving supporters to flood the Web with speculation.

The big question on their minds is the 2012 presidential race. Will she or won't she?

Her silence is not keeping supporters from discussing the possibility of her chasing the country's top job or taking on another national role.

Said one Facebook entry: "Drill, Drill, Drill ... all the way to the White House!!!!"

Said another: "Sarah, our country really NEEDS YOU NOW!!!"

1. She's probably afraid Shatner will make a poem out of her postings.

He's gotten a lot of mileage out of her writings. They are a riot. Maybe he finally shut her up.

How can Palin show up without wondering if Shatner's lurking out there, bongos at the ready, just waiting to get his hands on a transcript of her remarks?

She's frozen.

Man, in the end, when you make fun of fools and bullies, they fold, dither, run around in every direction, and don't know what the hell to do next.

8. Yep - everyone's favorite, Captain Kirk, of all people, has mocked her publically and repeatedly

and then Clear Channel dissed her totally with their refusal.

I don't think Sarah had much of a plan, other than "I MUST capitalize on my popularity and make me some coin." And when offers did not start pouring in, she hurriedly had her people see if they could push her to the front of the line and the top of the class for a spot with Clear Channel. I mean, who would turn down the People's Princess? Bet the look on her face when she heard and the resulting tantrum would have been cool to witness.

She will come up with something to replace her pipe dreams, but I predict that she will do such an epic fail with that opportunity that by December at the latest, we'll all be saying "Sarah who?".

Will be much fun to watch the implosion.
