US Marine From Cashion(OK) Killed During Firefight in Afghanistan
Source: KFSM/AP

CASHION, Okla. (AP) — A U.S. Marine from Cashion has been killed in Afghanistan.

Family friends confirmed Friday that 20-year-old Lance Cpl. Jonathan Stroud died after being wounded Thursday during a firefight while his unit was on foot patrol Afghanistan.

Debra Boyd, whose son Sam graduated with Stroud in 2007 from Cashion High School, says she learned of Stroud's death Thursday from his mother.

Boyd says Stroud and his wife married last year and were expecting the couple's first child.

1. Even more blood on Bush's hands.
How many more must die before we frogwalk him, and his cronies, into the Hague. I say arrest them all (including current repuke leaders in Congress).

5. Yep. Bush is no longer running this war.
We can still blame Bush for starting it, but it's the current President who is continuing it.

3. Obama's War
While Bush should certainly be condemned (and severely punished) for invading Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama has inherited both wars, and his escalation of the war in Afghanistan (and Pakistan) is kind of hard to ignore.

So I think it's a bit lame to condemn Bush without also holding Obama acountable.

8. Inherited, then Magnified
Yes, Obama inherited the war in Afghanistan from Bush. But there's a big difference between trying to get out and escalation. To put it another way, building a new military base in Afghanistan is a mighty strange strategy for withdrawal.

9. That is true, he inheritied this war, just like Nixon inherited Vietnam
Just like Nixon, he has decided to expand the war, he has decided thousands of additional soldiers are needed, the bombing continues. It is his war now.
