This video was taped by an Amercian living in Canada to help disspell the myth being perpetrated by political ads in the U.S. about how bad the Canadian Health Care System is. This is false political advertising to attempt to defeat the efforts in the U.S. Congress to pass universal health care. The video is by William S. Bates. Major, USMC (Ret), Vietnam veteran of Ottawa, Ontario and is intended to provide a true picture of Canadian Health Care from a private user's perspective.

Bet you weren't expecting that. ;)

7. if you do a search at youtube for Shona Holmes

you'll find increasing numbers of Canadians -- some with real brain tumours/cancer (like snagglepuss's brother, here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=6195277&mesg_id=6195277) -- are putting up their own videos.

On the other hand, a couple of youtube users with mirrors of the ad and the FoxNews crud have disabled ratings and either deleted all comments and closed to comments (AUTIgerFan21 who tells me "because the DailyKos and Huffington Post picked up the video and their people were being obnoxious with the comments and purposely rating the video 1 star multiple times ..." ... awww) or screen comments and put up only the moronic ones (realclearpolitics whose worthless reply I've lost somewhere).

The ad on the PatientsUnitedNow channel was still taking comments last time I looked. Feel free!
