Poll question: How many here would taze another person? |
|
Assume they are no real threat to you (since you have a gun as well and they don't) Assume you're a policeman and they are getting "uppity" with you.
How would you feel about tazing someone?

2. well, assuming I'm not armed |
|
that means that one of the choices at the begininng would be yours.
I started the poll because I'm shocked at how many people support and defend a fascist police state. I just wanted to see what the numbers were.

14. Tazers obviously need to be better controlled and police officers |
|
need more training on how to defuse what seem to be fairly routine situations . .
But a facist police state would not be using non lethal alternatives.
I am glad that police have tazers and hope that eventually they make the use of guns redundant, having said that they obviously need better training and accountability.

6. Other: Tasers are sometimes abused, but they're the safest way to facilitate restraint. |
|
...both for the officer and the subject...when used appropriately.
That said, I'd tase somebody in a second if it was appropriate.

I would not taze someone who did nothing to deserve it. I went with the review option.

10. I would taze someone if they were a perceived threat |
|
and how do you know they are not armed or not capable of grabbing your real gun. I would rather taze someone than shoot or kill someone and I would rather taze someone than have them kill or hurt someone including themselves.

I'd use a tazer to subdue a violent suspect without killing them.
