Holy Cow! 6" of rain in Louisville in 1HOUR?! |
|
Link: Video of NBC news reporting http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/32290647#32288987I think there have been many more of these violent "microburst" type of events lately than I can ever recall.

Main library branch seems to be destroyed. That's a lot of money.

if you even want to call it a summer so far. louisville is just around 100 miles south of us but even here we have had so much rain. i have two big dogs and keeping the lawn from being urine burnt is a challenge but this year with all the rain i have had the greenest grass yet in my 6 years in my home.

5. This is your planet on Climate Change |
|
until these kinds of storms happen on a weekly basis I don't think that most people will grasp what "Climate Change" really means, and that it is THE issue that we should be most worried about.

6. My intution tells me that such microbusts would be from global warming. |
|
I know there is a "no shit" factor to what I just said, but I'm actually talking something a little deeper. Energy converts between thermal and kinetic: So a more violent system has much more kinetic energy. If entropy were to increase for that system, the uniform temperature would be higher. Similarly an increase in total kinetic energy could be a manifesting of rising temperatures.
